CARL MARENCO
HONORED WITH CHARTER CUP
Carl Marenco of Wohlsen Construction is the 2024 Charter Cup winner. This
award is presented to the ABC contractor member who exemplifies the true
meaning of the Merit Shop philosophy and has contributed most to ABC. Carl
has shown incredible passion for the protection of free enterprise and open
competition in Delaware and is never afraid to speak out on his beliefs.
From serving a six-year term on Board of Directors, to holding every office
including Chair in 2021, he has served on Legislative/Legal Rights, Membership,
Careers in Construction and Inclusion & Diversity committees.
Carl is the first to step up on legislative matters, growing membership or
promoting future leaders in the association to create the next generation of
ABC. He was instrumental in navigating our organization through COVID with
events, programs and services that were safe and healthy. He re-organized our
Construction Education Foundation of Delaware, improving outreach to those
interested in construction.
Carl has been a strong supporter of our local and national Political Action
Committees, which help elect pro-merit shop-legislators. He encourages
members to get involved, reinforcing the value of having their voice heard.
“Carl is one of the most avid supporters of ABC and promotes our association
on a daily basis with his employees and friends,” said Edward Capodanno, ABC Delaware President. “He is constantly
advocating the benefits of belonging to our association and the return on investment. He is an individual that truly
embodies the spirit of ABC and is well deserving of this award.”
