KEVIN ZRALY’S TOP 10 PICKS AT THE GRAND TASTING VILLAGE
Consummate wine connoisseur, author and educator Kevin Zraly provides his Top 10 list of wines not to be missed, as you taste your way through more than 100 wines at the Grand Tasting Village. According to Kevin, it’s all about taste, and discovering what you personally enjoy. Use Kevin’s choices as a guide, and before you know it, you’ll develop your very own personal wine profile.
1. Schramsberg Mirabelle Rosé (Napa, California) Start your tasting with a glass of a thirst quenching sparkling rosé made from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Bright berry fruits and zest.
2. Miraval Rosé (Provence, France) Although owners, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, are no longer together, their wine is one of the great French rosés. A blend of Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault and Rolle. Great balance and length.
3. Taittinger
La Francaise n.v. (Champagne, France) Taittinger is one of the great Champagne producers. The La Francaise is a blend of Chardonnay (40%), Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Crisp, delicate and yeasty.
4. Domaine Drouhin Pinot Noir (Willamette Valley, Oregon) Owned by the renowned Burgundy producer, the Drouhin family, and established in 1987. This Pinot Noir is soft, elegant and balanced.
5. Ramey Cabernet Sauvignon Napa (Napa Valley, California) David Ramey is one of the best winemakers in California. The 2013 is a delicious supple, black fruit driven wine that you can enjoy now and age for another 10 years.
