The richly paneled living room of this stately Georgian home in Scarsdale was de- signed to showcase the owner’s large modern paintings featuring swaths of color, like blue and green, while creating a comfortable and functional space for the family to gather and entertain. The deep blue of the velvet sofa was drawn from the art, as was the lighter blue of the game-table chairs. Sculptural armchairs,
a midcentury glass table, and a traditional textured rug complete the look.
