Aquintet of restaurants is sched- uled to open this month: 1) bar- taco (1 Willett Ave, Port Chester 914-937-8226; bartaco.com), a taqueria from the owners of Barcelona in Greenwich, Connecticut, serves— what else?—tacos, among them red snapper, tuna belly, short rib, spicy pork sausage, Thai shrimp, and braised pork butt ($2 to $3), plus small plates like tamales and ceviche ($4 to $14); 2) Harper’s Restaurant & Bar (92 Main St, Dobbs Ferry, 914-693-2306; harpersonmain. com), a New American restaurant in the space that once housed Mimosa and the brainchild of partner Christopher Vergara of Meritage Restaurant in Scarsdale, offers such dishes as shellfish stew, duck rillette, and roasted pork porterhouse with leeks, bacon, and Brussels sprouts ($18 to $25); 3) Mariela’s Wine & Espresso Bar (71B Westchester Ave, Pound Ridge, no phone as of press time; marielas winebar.com) is a 25-seat Scotts Corners eat- ery featuring panini, crostini, soups, salads, pâtés, salumi ($5 to $9), a 60-bottle eclectic wine list, plus 20 wines-by-the-glass; 4) Fig & Olive Kitchen & Tasting Bar (Vernon Hills Shopping Center, Scarsdale; figandolive.com) is the first suburban outpost of the Manhattan triplet where olive oil reigns (no butter!) in a variety of Mediterranean-inspired mains, e.g., grilled lamb on rosemary skewers, grilled bran- zino with aged balsamic, and Dover sole mari- nated with herbes de Provençe for two ($17 to $45), plus a multitude of small plates and sal- ads ($4.50 to $23); 5) Massa’ (2 Weaver St, Scarsdale 914-472-4600; massascarsdale.com), a 200-seat Italian restaurant from the owners of La Villetta (son Francesco Coli and father, Pasquale Coli) in Larchmont.
