                                One Million Strong Welcome
Dear Business Leader:
Despite the challenges we have faced in overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic over the past few years, our business community has continued to thrive and flourish here in Westchester. We know you have chosen Westchester County for a reason – and we want you to know we are committed to seeing your business grow here.
Our convenient location just outside New York City is home to more than one million people. Our scenic beauty and wealth of talented business professionals provides the right economic climate for success. Our economy has no doubt been shaken, but we are resilient and we are finally turning the corner on the pandemic.
This year we will see the return of Launch1000, an innovative, fully remote, self-paced program designed to turn concepts and ideas into business plans and startups. New to the program this year is the addition of a bilingual cohort (English/Spanish) in order to create more accessible opportunities for our budding entrepreneurs.
I am proud of our continued implementation of equity, diversity and inclusion in our communities. Our office executed conXpo events to bring minority/women-owned businesses and service-disabled veteran- owned businesses together with County Departments who have contracting opportunities.
Our Westchester Industrial Development Agency (IDA) has incentivized expansions of small and large businesses including significant projects for Regeneron and Morgan Stanley.
As we continue to move forward, we are proud to build on the momentum of Westchester’s booming biotech sector with our Advanced Manufacturing Career Training Program. This virtual, 6-month program will introduce participants to exciting new technologies changing manufacturing processes – including robotics and artificial intelligence – as well as basic skills needed to succeed in their new career.
This Guide includes insight, testimonials and advice from Westchester’s most prominent business leaders and small business professionals. It includes everything you need to know to keep up with real estate, transportation and demographic trends within our County. Use this guide as a valuable resource and tool, as you continue to look at all of the exciting opportunities Westchester County has to offer.
Sincerely,
George Latimer
