Here are just a few of the reasons why Westchester is an outstanding place to build a business – and a life.
WE’VE GOT SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE.
Whether you’re looking for your first apartment, starting a family, or downsizing from an empty nest, Westchester County has a place for you to call home. The County offers a diverse mix of living options, including single family homes, townhomes, apartments and condominiums in a range of settings: traditional suburbs, quant villages, vibrant cities and quieter, rural landscapes.
WE’VE GOT SPACE TO BREATHE.
Westchester offers an expansive list of outdoor amenities, such as trails for hiking and biking, lakes for rowing and kayaking, parks for kids and dogs to play and dynamic downtowns to explore. With more than 18,000 acres of parkland, the County also boasts two scenic coastlines – along the Sound Shore and the Hudson River.
WE’RE A FOODIE MECCA.
Rivaling the best that New York has to offer, Westchester’s acclaimed dining scene features hundreds of restaurants specializing in virtually every major world cuisine, including Georgian, Korean, Croatian and more. A few examples of acclaimed chefs who are making their mark in County include: Dale Talde, Goosefeather (Tarrytown) Chef Peter Kelly, X20 (Yonkers) and Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, The Inn at Pound Ridge.
Our myriad restaurants, bistros, cafes are complemented by a wide array of food trucks and farm stands and farmer’s markets.
WE’RE ARTSY.
Enhancing the quality of life for our residents, Westchester enjoys an array of art and cultural treasures, including a dozen museums and art galleries, and 23 performing arts venues. Top musical and comedy acts regularly
perform in Westchester’s many historic and landmark theaters: The Paramount (Peekskill), The Capitol (Port Chester), The Music Hall (Tarrytown), The Emelin Theatre (Mamaroneck) and the White Plains Performing Arts Center.
Art lovers flock to the Hudson River Museum in Yonkers, the Neuberger Museum at SUNY Purchase and the Katonah Museum of Art. For film enthu- siasts, boutique cinema and arthouse cinema options include the historic Picture House in Pelham, as well as the Jacob Burns Film Center in Pleasantville, which offers foreign, independent and documentary films, as well as events and educational programming.
WE’RE AMUSING.
Spend the day at the historic Rye Playland amusement park and boardwalk, as well as the nearby Westchester Children’s Museum. In Yonkers, explore the LEGOLAND® Discovery Center, and iFly, New York’s only indoor skydiving facility. If you’re craving speed, check out Grand Prix New York racing in Mount Kisco.
Enjoy an afternoon at an engaging historic and cultural center like the Rockefeller Estate, Kykuit, Phillipsburg Manor in Sleepy Hollow or Van Cortlandt Manor in Croton-on-Hudson. And when fall rolls around, Sleepy Hollow Country comes alive with a host of spooky, seasonal festivities, like the Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze in Croton-on-Hudson.
WE’RE PERFECTLY PLACED.
If you live in Westchester County, you enjoy access to one of the world’s greatest cities, and all it has to offer – all within a 30-60-minute car or train ride.
