about the aspect of his work that means most to him: his family. “My dad is still living,” he said. “He is 88 years old, and he continues to ask me about my logging job and my crew. He always likes to check in, even though he is physically unable to come to the woods
anymore.” Holcomb’s children tell him that he works too hard. His son Dylan has even offered to take more responsibility managing the crew to relieve the burden on his father. “Dylan
has been a huge help, but he still has more to learn,” Holcomb said. “You can’t make it in this business without a good wife behind you; family support is everything for a logger.” ■
