BOARD MEMBERS
Thank You, North Carolina Forestry Association Family!
Iwant to thank each one of you for supporting NCFA with your time, talents and finances. Without your support, the success our association enjoyed this year would not have been possible. As we close out 2019, I would like to mention several items that YOUR NCFA team was able to accomplish
throughout the year.
NCFA’s Sustainable Forestry
Teachers Experience (SFTE) reached
a milestone with over 200 applicants
and 97 participants. Moreover, NCFA’s
Education Manager reached more than
3,300 students through various outreach
events. On the Communications side,
the new TreeLine Magazine rolled out
in the third quarter, and will enable
NCFA to provide valuable information
and other features to our membership
going forward. Our Communications
Coordinator plans to unveil the new
NCFA website by the end of the calendar
year. NCFA’s ProLogger Program enjoyed
another successful year, training 69 new
ProLoggers. The program heads into 2020 with 1,510 ProLoggers in good standing.
This year’s Annual Meeting in Wilmington was a huge success, and this issue
of TreeLine includes a comprehensive overview of the highlights. I would like to personally thank all of our sponsors, exhibitors, volunteers, as well as NCFA’s Business Manager Ann Harper, for all of their hard work and contributions toward this meeting. The Annual Meeting is Ms. Ann’s favorite event of the year, as it is for many of our members.
Legislatively, the forestry sector has been blessed with little adversity to date
in 2019. NCFA members have worked alongside myself and other stakeholders to educate agency heads, members of Congress and their staffers and other key officials on the importance of our industry. I would like to extend a huge thank you to all
of our members who traveled to Washington, D.C., participated in forestry field trips and attended NCFA’s Forestry Day in the Legislature in 2019. Without your engagement, forestry’s message would not resonate so loudly!
In closing, on behalf of NCFA, I want to wish you and your family a safe and happy holiday season. We all have a lot to be grateful for this year, and I hope that you and your family can take some time to reflect on 2019 and anticipate all that 2020 has in store for the NCFA.
