    SHARE YOUR PASSION
FOR FORESTRY with Students as a Camp Volunteer
The NCFA will be hosting our Forestry & Environmental Camp, and we need volunteers to share their passion and
knowledge for forestry as well as their time. This is a unique opportunity for our professionals to work directly with students and share their story. The camp is actually a field trip experience, where students are offered the opportunity to leave the classroom and directly apply their science and math lessons in an outdoor setting. Our volunteers are able to help bring these lessons to life and connect our youth to the outdoors.
“As a professional in the forest industry, I see the value in educating youth about the importance of sustainable forestry,” said longtime education programs volunteer Jadie Andrews. “One day, these children will be part of the process that makes laws and regulations that we as an industry have to abide by. It is of great importance that the youth of our state understand the importance of what we do and the value of it.”
Another active volunteer, Wesley West, noted, “Volunteering allows me to share my profession with young people and others who may never get a chance to hear about
our great industry.” The Forestry and
Environmental Camp is one of the NCFA’s longer-running educational programs. We could not have made this program successful without
the help of our members. Please help the NCFA teach our young people about sustainable forestry by volunteering for a camp near you.
