What is your hometown?
Do you plan to stay (or may consider staying) in Delaware beyond your fellowship? Yes, I went to the University of Delaware for undergrad. Having met my wife there and continuing to have friends and family within the area who I knew supported me is what brought me back to DE. The relationships I made with my colleagues and patients throughout residency is what made me want to stay.
When did you decide to go into medicine and why?
Medicine was actually not my original plan. I was a Physics major in college and thought that I would be an engineer. After
When did you decide to go into medicine and why? I knew I wanted to study medicine at a young age when I saw my mom going into work as a nurse. I loved everything about hospitals, biology, and their trust in me and allow me to participate in their health and well- being.
What do you like to do in your spare time? I love to play and coach soccer. COVID has halted that for the time being, but I also like to run and stay active. Music concerts, time with family and friends, and reading a good book are things I enjoy outside the hospital.
How can MSD better support our Resident/Fellow members? To be able to participate in any grant opportunities through our continued research or ability to publish case studies and reports would be extremely helpful for the resident and fellows.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? I see myself knowing my patient population well and assisting in the changes to better support all aspects of their health, as well as educating learners in the area of Pulmonology.
doing research for a few years, I realized I missed interacting with various people each day and wanted to continue being
a learner. Both my father and grandfather are/were general surgeons and I thought that I was also going to go into surgery after I changed paths to medicine. Internal Medicine was a that I enjoyed being knowledgeable in many different areas and having lasting relationships with my patients.
What do you like to do in your spare time? I enjoy sports, intramurals, being with my family, and traveling in my spare time. I studied abroad twice in college, living in both Italy and France. I’m hoping to be able to do more traveling now that I’ve
What would you like to see MSD work on? I hope to see MSD recruit many other new physicians such as myself in this ever-changing health care system.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? I will have to wait and see where my career takes me. I do have interest in being involved in administration down the line, but for now I am concentrating on being the best clinician I can be. Whatever role I am in in 10 years, it will hopefully be in addition to my lead roles as a husband and father.
