MSD COUNCIL
Government Affairs Committee on issues that are of interest to members
of the Medical Society of Delaware in the three main primary care specialties. This includes, but is not limited to legislative and policy issues and payment and reimbursement issues.
ELECTIONS
The Committee on Ethics is a Council- elected committee, and those wanting to be members on the Committee
must be elected by the Council. The following two MSD members were considered for election as members
to the Committee on Ethics and were approved: Neil S. Kaye, MD and Rachael A. Latshaw, DO. Seats on the Committee on Ethics are elected by the Council annually.
2019 NOMINATING COMMITTEE
The MSD Nominating Committee is comprised of seven members, six of which are selected from the Council members. The Nominating Committee is appointed annually by the MSD Executive Board
at its May meeting after nominations are accepted at the Interim Council Meeting held in April. The members serving on
the Nominating Committee have the responsibility throughout the year to have an interest in serving in the various positions that are expiring, who are then elected at the Annual Meeting held in November through nomination by the Nominating Committee.
The following Council members were nominated to serve on the 2019
Nominating Committee: Bhavin R. Dave, MD; Brian J. Galinat, MD; John Goodill, MD; Jeffrey E. Hawtof, MD; Timothy Manzone, MD; and Robert Varipapa, MD. The MSD President- Elect, Joseph J. Straight, MD, will serve as the Chair of the Committee.
MSD 2019 ANNUAL MEETING DATE
The 2019 Medical Society of Delaware Annual Meeting will be held on
the Medical Society of Delaware Conference Center in Newark, Del. The Inaugural Gala will be held later Country Club in Newark, Del.
