to the CoC, 85% of lung cases should have “chemotherapy administered within four months to day preop or day of surgery to
six months postop, or it is recommended for surgically resected cases with pathologically lymph node positive (pN1) and (pN2) 11

METHODS
Cases with diagnoses in 2015 and 2016 were selected from the DCR database Research was conducted in the Delaware Health Information Network (DHIN) for cases that were missing complete treatment information, and data were added to the

to accurately record each patient’s care. measures for four sites. The CoC measures included BCSRT, MASTRT, 12RLN, G15RLN, and LCT.
RESULTS
Table 1 displays the percentages of DCR cases meeting selected CoC quality-of-care measures and the CoC’s clinical rationale for each measure.12 Overall, DCR cases met the standards for the CoC quality-of-care measures for all except one measure. DCR cases did not meet the G15RLN standard (80% of cases) for 2015 diagnosis year data.
The percentage of cases meeting the CoC measure increased between 2015 and 2016 for three measures: BCSRT, MASTRT, and G15RLN. For the LCT quality measure,
the percentage of cases meeting the quality measure remained at 100% for both years, while for the 12RLN measure, the percentage
of cases meeting the measure decreased from 95.7% to 92.0%.
CONCLUSION
In this study, DCR data were evaluated

addressed quality of care across four cancer sites. When the coded data from the DCR, supplemented with information from the DHIN, were evaluated, cancer care in Delaware met the CoC standard for four measures in 2016.
There are many possible factors that could

of these, like the desires of the patient, other patient comorbidities, the stage of disease at diagnosis, and recommendations from the patient’s physician, will affect the percentage of cases that meet the measures outlined by the CoC. In addition, while the DCR data meet all quality criteria established by the CDC-NPCR program and NAACCR, data-
