The CenDel Foundation has announced the opening of a new foundation to benefit outstanding high school students from Central Delaware. The DR. C. EDWARD GRAYBEAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND, with an initial donation of $100,000, will fund scholarships to exceptional students at Milford High School. Dr. Graybeal is a Medical Society of Delaware Past President.
Christiana Care President and CEO JANICE E. NEVIN, MD, MPH was inducted into the Delaware Commission for Women’s Hall of Fame of Delaware Women on March 22. She was recognized for her visionary, collaborative leadership in transforming health care in Delaware.
Hospital News BAYHEALTH
BAYHEALTH MILFORD MEMORIAL and BAYHEALTH HOSPITAL, KENT CAMPUS were recently designated Gold Safe Sleep Champions by the National Safe Sleep Hospital Certification Program. The program recognizes hospitals for their commitment to best practices and education on infant safe sleep in an effort to help lower infant mortality rates.
BAYHEALTH was named a “Top Performer for the Healthcare Quality Index 2017," the national LGBTQ benchmarking tool that evaluates health care facilities’ policies and practices related to the equity and inclusion of LGBTQ patients, visitors, and employees.

BEEBE HEALTHCARE earned a 96 percent score in the Maternity Practices in Infant Nutrition and Care survey completed by
the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The hospital earned 100 percent scores in the areas of Labor and Delivery Care, Postpartum Care — Breastfeeding, Postpartum Care — Breastfeeding Assistance, Postpartum Care — Contact Between Mother and Infant, and Structural and Organizational Aspects of Care Delivery.
CHRISTIANA CARE HEALTH SYSTEM
CHRISTIANA CARE HEALTH SYSTEM earned the John M. Eisenberg Patient Safety and Quality Award for its patient-centered care coordination service, Care Link. The award recognizes the best examples of individual, local, and national efforts to improve patient safety and health care quality. The award is presented by the Joint Commission and the National Quality Forum. Care Link is a robust information technology-enabled network of care coordination support services that builds relationships among health care providers and patients to optimize outcomes.
