  across the hall from research facilities, with a two-story amphitheater in the middle. The hope is that students will be able to take on real problems proposed by businesses, and the businesses will be able to see new possibilities in research being performed.
“You want there to be collisions of people, that chance to get a lot of exposure in a short amount of time,” says BRUCE WEBER, dean of the Lerner College.
Potential plans and programs include a cybersecurity leadership center that would link Lerner’s cybersecurity management work with the College of Engineering’s cybersecurity engineering and technology. There will also be a space for human-machine learning, social media data analysis and a multi-media studio.
In the restaurant planned for the first floor, Thompson and Weber imagine discussions over lunch that result in new products and collaborations. The whole building will be designed for networking, they say.
“Aspirationally, we hope it’s going to be a center
of excellence for the digital sciences, fintech and data management of many things, private and public,” says MIKE BOWMAN, president of DTP.
“We all benefit when great, creative minds work together,”
says Thompson.
