Wood Bans
Over the past few months and years, four northern metro Atlanta cities — Tucker, Sandy Springs, Dunwoody and Chamblee — have passed ordinances limiting the use of wood in commercial construction, and there are rumors that several more are considering similar legislation. Recently in Maryland, there was legislation introduced to limit the use of lumber statewide.

GFA is highly focused on developing a strategy to ensure that markets for lumber and timber are not eroded.
In addition, the GFA government affairs team is working with national partners, such as WoodWorks and the American Wood Council, to educate local and state leaders on the safety, environmental and economic benefits of wood products.
