FAVORITE HIDDEN WATERWAY:
Chattahoochee River
Q:THE CHATTAHOOCHEE ISN’T EXACTLY A HIDDEN
WATERWAY...
A:Over the last ten years, dams were removed in the heart of down-
town Columbus, improving access for recreation, most notably whitewater rafting. This river was once a back- drop, but is now the focal point of our community.
Q: HOW DO YOU LIKE TO SPEND TIME ON THE RIVER?
A:I am a tri-athlete, so on summer mornings I swim while my family
kayaks alongside.
Q:HOW ARE URBAN FORESTS AND WORKING
FORESTS LINKED?
A: Our organization has the opportunity to talk to people
and help them understand that forestry is by and large good for our water. The forestry community supports Trees Columbus, and
connections to their expertise make our work stronger.
