Whether you’re planning an event for work, family or friends, Garrett County provides the perfect backdrop. We’re experts at hosting family reunions, military reunions, alumni gatherings, corporate retreats, weddings and bachelor/bachelorette parties. Groups can still come together safely here, with many lodging options available to accommodate any size group.
The area’s diverse activities and attractions can satisfy any event host’s needs and interests, and our local businesses are
happy to work with you on an event that’s compatible with social distancing guidelines. In fact, our myriad options for outdoor activities make us the perfect choice for a fun event that’s also safe for all participants.

Family Reunions

Corporate Retreats, Meetings and Team Building
An offsite meeting or work retreat is a great way to recharge, and Garrett County’s many lodging options and meeting venues will be happy to accommodate you.
Wisp Resort (wispresort.com) hosts many corporate groups on its more than 40,000 square feet of meeting space. The staff can help you schedule a blend of business and pleasure with team-building programs.
Deep Creek Lake Adventures (dcladventures. com) offers several venues for fun group activities, including the largest aerial adventure park in the tri-state area, an arcade and an axe-throwing facility. For a few rounds of golf, Garrett County has three courses with mountain and lake views that cater to all skill levels.
Military Reunions
Garrett County’s outdoor sports and adventure activities are a particular draw to military personnel from East Coast bases who hold reunions here. The state parks offer free admission to veterans and there are military discounts at many businesses. The Inn at Deep Creek (innatdeepcreek.com), for instance, offers a 10 percent discount on rooms for military members year-round. In the spring, the Chamber’s Military March promotion provides a range of discounts to military members

Getaways for Friends and Couples
Garrett County has wine tours, brewpubs, specialty shops and a fun nightlife to keep
you busy on your friends’ or couples’ getaway. Blue Moon Rising (bluemoonrising.org) offers a unique, quiet and peaceful setting for a retreat. It’s in the heart of Deep Creek Lake, yet removed from it all. Or head to FireFly Farms Creamery & Market (fireflyfarms.com) for a wine and cheese tasting.
Want more adventure? Try All Earth Eco Tours (allearthecotours.com), which provides guided kayak tours and other nature-friendly group activities, such as river walks, yoga in nature and a farm day camp.
 Garrett County is a popular family reunion destination, offering easy access from the Mid-Atlantic and the Midwest, plus activities to entertain all of the generations. Our quaint main streets are the perfect spots for coffee or lunch and for a chance to catch up and reminisce.
You have lots of lodging options to choose from as well. Garrett County’s many state parks offer camping, glamping and cabins; spacious lakefront homes can accommodate small to moderate-sized groups in one place; and hotels offer a wide range of group packages. You’ll also have your pick of picnic areas and pavilions for a barbecue or old-fashioned family potluck. Deep Creek Lake, Swallow Falls State Park, Herrington Manor and Casselman River Bridge parks (dnr.maryland.gov/publiclands/ pages/western_maryland.aspx) are a few of the outdoor settings available.
