 Family Fun Experiences
   Your Kids
WILL LOVE IT HERE
We believe there’s an outdoor enthusiast hidden in every kid, and Garrett County is the perfect place to nurture that enthusiasm. Kids can get active on the water, on horseback, on bikes, or just on their own two feet. You’ll be surprised by how quickly those phone screens are going to lie forgotten.
For horse lovers, riding lessons at Circle R Ranch (deepcreeklakestable.com) are a favorite. The littles can enjoy a pony ride or a barn encounter with the ranch’s four- legged residents, while older kids and grown-ups can go on trail rides for up to 90 minutes.
Adventurous climbers will love trying an aerial adventure course. Monkey Business Adventure Park (dcladventures.com/ monkey-business-adventure-park) and Wisp Resort (wispresort.com/activities- home) both offer three different course options, based on age and skill level. At both sites, kids age 4 and up (as well as adults) can try their hand at climbing obstacles and zooming down ziplines above the treetops.
While you’re at Wisp, make sure you try the mountain coaster, a hybrid Alpine slide and roller coaster that zooms 3,500 feet down the side of Wisp Mountain. And, if your kids don’t mind heights, take
them on a scenic chairlift ride!
On a summer day, there’s no better place to cool off than the lake. Rent paddleboards or kayaks from High Mountain Sports (highmountainsports.com) for a fun day
on the water. Hourly rentals of kayaks, paddleboards, pontoons or wave runners are also available at FunTime Water Sports (funtimewatersports.com).
Don’t worry though — the fun doesn’t start and end with summer. Our year-round festivals make sure of that.
Every President’s Day weekend, head to Oakland Winter Fest (oaklandmd.com) for
