TIP #5: Use More Images Screen-based readers don’t need
more cowbell; they need more pictures. Seek to visually engage screen readers.
One way to do this is to embed key pictures and diagrams in the text more often. The images can call the reader’s attention to key information and allevi- ate some of the monotony of text. And recall that color, high-quality images cost no more to insert into a file than a poorly photocopied eighth-generation picture. Make it look good.
Conclusion
As we write this column in the sum- mer of 2020, it is difficult, if not im- possible, to predict how different many aspects of life will be as a result of the
Covid-19 pandemic. But, even if the legal profession returns to the way it was at the end of 2019, screen reading will certainly be a part of the new norm and more likely a greater part of it. We will need to embrace it. We hope this article has provided you with skills and knowledge so you will be ready for that challenge and opportunity.
