merged. As this directory exemplifies, the CMC is now a large regional chamber at the center of the economic growth in Maryland.
The CMC footprint spans multiple jurisdictions, and it has the distinction of being the only chamber of commerce in the state of Maryland with a regional focus. With 500 businesses that span Anne Arundel, Howard and Prince George’s counties, the CMC represents the “growth corridor” of Maryland.
When businesses look at growing or relocating to a specific area, they consider what that community has to offer in terms of education, talent, housing, infrastructure, amenities and overall quality of life. As this directory shows, we are lucky to have an exceptionally high quality of life in the Central Maryland region. This high quality of life, in turn, promotes a healthy business ecosystem that allows CMC businesses to thrive.
Several key assets in the “growth corridor” serve as drivers of economic growth and are critical components to the strong business ecosystem the CMC strives to advance. Understanding some of these assets is critical to appreciating the CMC’s tremendous potential for generating future economic growth:
Fort Meade generates $20 billion in economic activity
per year
Live! Casino and Hotel features over 300 luxury guest rooms
25 million commercial passengers travel through BWI Marshall annually
