                                BCW ANTI-RACISM WEBINAR SERIES
The Business Council of Westchester is committed to standing against racism.
We were pleased this year to launch a series of anti-racism programs, seminars and initiatives spanning several months that represented the first steps toward that vital goal, resulting in a multifaceted portfolio that includes listening, actions, resources, programming, and more. These events included:
A National Town Hall event by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce on June 25 that was part of a national initiative to address inequality. The BCW stands with business and community leaders across the nation as we discuss concrete actions that can be taken by government and the private sector to address inequality through education, employment, entrepreneurship, and criminal justice reform. As a partner on this important initiative, the BCW hosted local and industry dialogues to further the discussion.
Also on June 25, we partnered with The Business Council of NYS on their program, offered free to BCW
members, which included a new webinar titled “Open Conversation: Racial Inclusion, Diversity and Equality in Business,” which featured a diverse panel that discussed the struggles of Black business owners and examined how all business leaders can develop plans and guidelines to diversify their workforces and teach employees how to maintain an inclusive workforce that respects all customers and clients.
We were also proud to launch a series of anti-racism webinars last summer and fall, partnering with Balancing Life’s Issues making this a state-wide initiative. The Anti-Racism Resource Center provides free programming for our members and their employees on range of topics including:
1. Unconscious Bias
2. Fostering Inclusion in the Workplace
3. How to be an Inclusive Leader
4. What You Need to Know About Demonstrations
5. Coping With Civil Unrest
6. Self-Care in the Face of Trauma
7. Raising Children to Respect Diversity in Your Home
The Anti-Racism Resource Center is available at www.thebcw.org providing diversity and inclusion resources for our members. The webinars are available online on the BCW website.
