Since 1998, Ardsley’s Acorda Therapeutics and its 500-plus-person team have enjoyed an essential position at the forefront of Westchester County’s emergence as a leading center of biotechnology. Getting out that message falls largely on the skilled shoulders of Tierney Saccavino, Executive Vice President of Corporate Communications. Not only does Tierney lead Acorda’s corporate communications function — which comprises traditional media, social media, investor relations, internal communications, thought leadership, patient advocacy and community outreach — she is also a member of Acorda’s Executive Leadership Team and manages the Digital Strategies and Creative departments.
During her 23-year tenure, Tierney’s priority has been to convey Acorda’s ongoing passion about developing new therapies to help people with neurological disorders, which is at the heart of everything Acorda does. In addition to possessing full clinical development and commercial sales capa- bilities, Acorda remains a champion of STEM programs throughout the region.
