                                 Welcome Members!
The past two years has posed many challenges, but also demonstrated extraordinary strength across
the businesses throughout the County. It is through times like these that you understand how important it is to be a part of the BCW community. Our members tell us they have realized now, more than ever, how valuable their memberships have become. In fact, more than 80% of our new members join through current-member referrals.
We are very proud of the incredible resource that the BCW has been for businesses in Westchester County and how resilient our members and our organization have been throughout the pandemic. The BCW held virtual meetings, webinars, and other programs to help our members navigate through the maze of financial assistance programs available. The BCW kept in daily communication with businesses, keeping our members informed and updated on the latest pandemic information from both state and federal government.
Throughout it all, the BCW’s top priority remained advocating economic development and growth in the County, as well as the prosperity of our members.
Although the New York State Capitol was only open to members of the legislature and their staffs, the BCW was in contact with our legislative leaders and delegation members on a weekly basis to make sure our members’ concerns were heard and addressed. The first virtual Albany Day was hosted by the BCW in late February, with several hundred business professionals participating.
The BCW remains committed to being advocates for our members. One of our top legislative priorities has been to assist Empire City Casino in Yonkers in obtaining a full-scale gaming license. A full-scale license would create an economic wave that expedites the State’s recovery, creating over 10,000 direct and indirect jobs.
We continued to hold a full slate of compelling and timely virtual and in-person events. Programs held so far this year included a virtual Diversity and Inclusion Summit; a 17th Congressional District debate and a series of Political Leadership programs featuring new Westchester County District Attorney Mimi Rocah; new Congressmen Mondaire Jones and Jamaal Bowman; Lt Governor Kathy Hochul and County Executive George Latimer.
As New York State guidelines permit, the BCW is planning a robust hybrid calendar of in-person and virtual events in the coming months. This will include our annual Energy Conference and in-person Annual Dinner, where we will be honoring two global leaders who have made history in the fight against COVID-19.
Membership at the BCW is critical as we continue to advocate the economic development and prosperity for the Westchester business community, as well as provide opportunities for our members to build and create vital business relationships. As always, we are here for you.
