Acquisition of Decibel Therapeutics for Gene Therapy Development: In September 2023, Regeneron strengthened its partnership with Decibel Therapeutics by acquiring
the company. The following month, they shared some promising early results from a trial on a new gene therapy that shows potential to help people with severe hearing loss caused by genetics.
Partnership for COVID-19 Treatment Development:
Regeneron made a deal with a U.S. government agency, BARDA, to help develop, produce, and get official approval for a new COVID-19 antibody treatment.
Nurturing Future Scientific Innovators
In 2023, Regeneron continued to sponsor several key science fairs and events, like the Regeneron Science Talent Search, the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair, and the Regeneron Westchester Science and Engineering Fair.
Regeneron and the Society for Science announced that Regeneron will be increasing and extending its support for the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair, the world’s largest global pre-college science and engineering competition, investing about $34 million over the next five years.
Regeneron Genetics Center became a founding partner of the Together for CHANGETM initiative, which aims to improve healthcare for people of African ancestry and address inequities in STEM careers and research.
Advancing Corporate Citizenship
The company has been recognized on the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index for the fifth year in a row, highlighting its commitment to sustainable practices.
In 2023, Regeneron employees set a new company record by volunteering over 23,000 hours in the company's seventh annual "Day for Doing Good." More than 6,700 Regeneron volunteers participated, reflecting the company's strong commitment to community service.
