                                 HEALTHCARE Cutting Edge Care
In Your Backyard
Westchester residents have access to leading-edge medical technology, a diverse array of care options and the world’s top medical specialists.
A New Vision
From large hospital networks, such as the Westchester Medical Center Health Network, New York Presbyterian and Northwell Health, to distinguished practice groups such as CareMount Medical, WestMed and Columbia Doctors, Westchester residents en- joy world-class healthcare right in the communities where they live.
Montefiore Health System
Montefiore Health System has 40 specialty care locations in Westchester plus four hospitals – White Plains Hospital, Montefiore New Rochelle, Montefiore Mount Vernon, Burke Rehabilitation Hospital, and a skilled nursing facility.
Montefiore also has two corporate campuses in the County, one in Yonkers, which includes its care management headquarters, and one in Tarrytown.
This is in addition to Montefiore’s Westchester clinical affiliates (St. John’s Riverside Hospital and St. Joseph’s Medical Center, which combined have 32 additional locations). In 2016, the White Plains Hospital Center for Cancer Care opened, featuring a six-floor cancer center, cardiac catheteriza- tion laboratory and multiple outpatient multi-practice locations.
ENT and Allergy Associates, LLP (ENTA) is the nation’s largest full-service otolaryngology, allergy, and audiology practice. We spoke to CEO Robert Glazer about the company’s Westchester connections.
Tell us about the company’s practice.
ENT and Allergy Associates operates 46 clinical locations with over 220 physicians and 130 licensed audiolo- gists. Our practice sees over 90,000 patients per month.
What are some of the benefits of being based in Westchester?
Not only is the county located 25 miles north of Manhattan, it is home to numerous global corporations, prestigious universities, and major transportation hubs. When the prac- tice was founded in 1997, it drew upon the expertise of the otolaryn- gologists and allergists of White Plains to help provide it the foundation it needed for future growth. ENTA’s corporate headquarters is also located in Westchester County.
What’s on the horizon for 2020?
We recently announced the launch of a new business support affiliate, Quality Medical Management Services USA. The new affiliate will leverage practice management, organizational experience, and cutting-edge medi- cal applications to support ENTA and other practices.
We are also committed to further investing in infrastructure, particularly those programs that promote mean- ingful use of electronic health records (EHR), preventive care and coordina- tion of care with primary care special- ties. We pride ourselves on the ability to promise and deliver same and next day appointments to nearly all pa- tients who request to be seen in that timeframe. Patients demand superior scheduling ease, or else they will just go to an urgent care clinic. We must strive to have an OpenTable-like experi- ence for patients in scheduling.
