DINING†NIGHTLIFE

Grace Winery’s Dinner in the Vineyard
> GraceWinery.com
If you like farm-to-table dining, a meal at one of Grace Winery’s Dinners in the Vineyard will be a dream come true. The experience begins with an exquisitely set table among the vines, the empty wine glasses almost waiting with anticipation to be filled with their fruit. The dinner features locally sourced and seasonally focused ingredients, many of which are grown on the winery grounds or at farms nearby. As the sunlight fades,
the warm glow that comes from being surrounded by everything good — good food, good wine and good friends — surrounds you as you relax amidst the fireflies and crickets. Not surprisingly, reservations to these little moments of paradise get snatched up quickly since they only happen once a month when the weather allows, although the winery’s five-course Cellar Dinners keep the farm-to-table dream alive all year long.
PIZZA IS SERIOUS BUSINESS IN DELCO Opinions are pretty easy to come by in Delco. (Just ask an Eagles fan about the Cowboys.) We tend to be um, passionate, about the things we love, and around here, that includes pizza. Ever since Tina Fey gave a shout-out to her favorite on “The Tonight Show” (see below), the debate on the perfect pie persists. Here are a few of the top contenders.
GAETANO’S (Clifton Heights; Springfield) > (610) 626-4826
Grab some cash (they don’t take credit cards), clear the table (takeout only), and get ready for pizza with the
sauce on top. The three-cheese pizza will change your world. The white
clam pizza? Fuhgettaboutit.
IMPERIAL (Secane) > (610) 543-9393
Home of the pizza with the
sandy bottom (cornmeal crust). Locally famous for being the cheapest large pie you can
find and open until 2 a.m. on weekends (with delivery) for those late-night cravings.
PICA’S (Upper Darby; West Chester) > Picas-Restaurant.com
The only Delco pizza to make
a national late-night talk show appearance: Tina Fey chowed down on this hometown favorite with Jimmy Fallon in 2014 and explained “this pizza is the BESSSSSST!”
PINOCCHIO’S (Media) > PinPizza.com
Is there anything better than pizza and beer? With jumbo pizzas
“as large as throw
rugs” (according to one reviewer) and an extensive beer garden
next door, no one has to pull our strings to get us here.
CLANK’S BAR (Marcus Hook)
in the Delaware County Daily Times’ March Madness of Delco
Pizza, beating out 26 other Delco pizzerias.
Best with pepperoni.
CIMINERA’S (Clifton Heights) > (610) 622-5098
Home of the original provolone pie (provolone cheese baked into the crust with sauce on top), taco pizza (taco sauce, mozzarella cheese, ground beef, lettuce, and tomatoes) and the Tuesday night special.
