The historic Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square hosts
the top 70 players as they face off in the PGA Tour’s FedExCup Playoffs.
Aronimink Golf Club
was founded in 1896 and moved to its current location in 1926. Donald Ross, the Scottish pro who became one of America’s foremost golf architects, was commissioned to design the course.
Even today members and employees sense this tradition every time they enter the club grounds and approach the clubhouse. Over the past century Aronimink has hosted many prestigious tournaments, most notably
the 1962 PGA Championship, the 1977 U.S. Amateur Championship, the 1997 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship, 2003 Senior PGA Championship,the 2010 and 2011 AT&T National Championship, and the
2018 BMW Championship. In 2020, Aronimink will be hosting the Women’s PGA Championship, and in 2027 the club is scheduled for the PGA Championship.
