Stanley Black & Decker Expansion Brings
400 New Jobs to Baltimore County
Fortune 500 manufacturer Stanley Black & Decker is doubling down on its Baltimore County presence with a major expansion that will support 400 new jobs in the company’s Global Tools & Storage division. The average salary for the new jobs will be $60,000.
Stanley Black & Decker announced in early 2018 that it would invest $8.5 million in new office space at the Greenleigh at Crossroads development in the White Marsh-Middle River area. Greenleigh is a 1,000-acre, $750 million mixed-use development located at Maryland Route 43 and I-95.
The headquarters of Stanley Black & Decker’s Global Tools & Storage in Towson employs some 1,600 people. The ability to find abundant new talent for expansion was one of the major factors in the company’s decision to open its second location in Baltimore County.
“As Stanley Black & Decker continues to grow, we need to continually infuse our business with innovation-minded people who are excited about building the innovations
that will change the world tomorrow,” said Jeff Ansell, president of Global Tools & Storage for Stanley Black & Decker. “We continue to find those people right here
in Maryland, and we are proud to expand our operations in a place that we’ve called
home for nearly 110 years. The State of Maryland and Baltimore County have been strong partners throughout this expansion process and are working hard to help our innovative, high-performing company grow in Maryland.”
Tradepoint Atlantic: What You Need to Know
This 3,100-acre waterfront industrial site has quickly become one of the County’s major economic engines. New, big-name tenants are setting up shop in the development all the time — think Amazon, Royal Farms, Harley-Davidson — and an attractive
lineup of economic incentives will ensure that Tradepoint continues to grow at a breathtaking pace. Most recently, agtech startup Gotham Greens announced it would build a state-of-the-art hydroponic greenhouse at the site that will create more than 60 full-time jobs and supply year-round fresh produce to the Mid-Atlantic region.
