    PERIODICALS SUPPLEMENT TO
A WORLD OF POSSIBILITIES
WTC Delaware members
helping solve global hunger
Welcome to the third edition of International Delaware, the World Trade Center Delaware’s yearly magazine supplement to Delaware Business Times. When we began the magazine, our goal was to introduce potential buyers, suppliers, investors, and project partners to Delaware’s companies, capabilities, and benefits.
International Delaware has traveled the world, from embassies in Washington to U.S. missions and partners across the
globe. Thousands of copies have accompanied us on each trip. The World Trade Centers Association distributes it digitally to more than 325 other Centers in almost 100 countries, and our U.S. government partners send it to embassies and missions across the globe.
The first year, the magazine introduced World Trade Center Delaware and the statewide cross-section of products and services. Last year, it focused on Delaware’s unique position as the Eastern Gateway to the United States and featured the advantages that the Port of Wilmington and our transportation and logistics companies offer international companies.
This year, we are focusing on agriculture, Delaware’s biggest industry. Forty-two percent of Delaware’s land is devoted to agriculture and the state is first in the nation in products per acre. Sussex County is the No. 1 poultry- growing county in the entire United States. Statewide we produce 264 million broilers, or 273 chickens per resident. And Delaware harvests more acres of lima beans than any other state!
As an international organization with more than 320 members and 15,000 employees in almost 100 countries, the World Trade Centers Association can develop and disseminate solutions to decrease world hunger through innovative and sustainable trade solutions to the major policy questions of our time. World Trade Center Delaware is proud to have been selected as an original member of the Agriculture Member Advisory Council, a vehicle to identify the best solutions to the problem of global hunger and share them around the world.
This issue demonstrates that Delaware companies and institutions can be vital participants in the international agricultural trade, providing solutions along the entire supply chain to meet world demand.
Signed,
Carla Sydney Stone
President, World Trade Center Delaware
