The WTC Delaware On the Road Program:
WTC Delaware prepares members and sends staff on trade missions and international conferences to represent Delaware interests. We showcase Delaware companies’ products
and services and the benefits of our location, financial and regulatory environment at venues across the globe. Members accompanied us to the U.S.-Ghana Trade & Investment Forum in Washington as well as to the U.S. Commercial Service Trade Winds Forum and Mission in India. This
year, Delaware staff exhibited at Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C. We were fortunate to sponsor an exhibit at the World Trade Centers Association General Assembly in Mexico focusing on agriculture and logistics and where Secretary of Agriculture Michael Scuse was a keynote speaker. In New Delhi, India,
at the U.S. Commercial Service Trade Winds Forum, we presented opportunities for international companies, especially those in the biotech and biopharma industries to locate in Delaware and explored Indian and South Asian markets for our companies. In June, we had a large exhibit
at the U.S.-Africa Business Summit in Mozambique where interest in Delaware’s agriculture and environmental companies was especially strong. This coming March, the General Assembly will be held in Taipei and will include a very large trade show; agriculture, environment, health care, IT, and logistics will be featured. We return to that part of the world for the 2020 Trade Winds to be held in Hong Kong and to Africa when the 2020 Summit will be held in Morocco.

WTC Delaware At Your Doorstep program:
WTC Delaware coordinates visits from international diplomats and business leaders to meet with local suppliers, and Delaware officials and organizations. Throughout the year, we provided assistance to companies that needed information and staffing to prepare for and to host high-level delegations. In May, we sponsored and organized a day-long kickoff at the U.S.-Africa Business Summit. This major event included invitations to the ambassadors and their staff from three African countries, officials from the U.S. Commercial Service and the U.S. Trade and Development Agency, and the Corporate Council on Africa and the Port of Wilmington. Companies, officials, and staff from the region attended the conference. Following the event, we worked extensively with companies to strengthen their relationship with the countries represented by taking them to Washington for individual embassy visits and by providing additional information on opportunities of specific interest.
