   WE GROW TRADE
It’s not unusual for global business to make World Trade Center Delaware their first stop when they plan to do business in the First State. Local companies find value in the sales leads, up-to-the-minute trade information, and personalized services that the WTC Delaware staff members provide, which often end in real sales for companies both large and small.
“As a small company, anything we do has to add value,” said Michael DiVietro, one of the newest members of World Trade Center Delaware.
As the managing director of Haiti’s Best Coffee & Trading Company, DiVietro has worked to created “balanced, bilateral trade” between Haiti and the United States, importing single origin coffee beans from Haiti and exporting lumber made from southern yellow pine trees, desperately needed to rebuild the island nation after a series of natural disasters.
“World Trade Center Delaware provides natural synergies, introducing us to companies that we need to plug into,” he said. “But the entire organization seems to be made up of high-profile people who share our goals, to get out there to get things done.”
One plan to nurture the international trade community includes a plan to expand the Port of Wilmington.
