From 3000 Jeeps on the Beach in Wildwood to celebrating Stone Harbor’s Festival of Lights at James May’s annual bash with
Guy Fizzano and Angelo
Di Candilo wearing Eagles Pride Championship Hats, the ‘shoulder season’ in Wildwood enters full swing this month with motorcycles, classic cars, monster trucks, Irish & Seafarer’s Festivals and a Fabulous 50’s weekend of live bands, food, cars, entertainment and more.
Kudos to the ‘Italian’ Mayors of The Wildwoods; Don Cabrera, Wildwood Crest, Patrick Rosenello, North Wildwood & and Ernie Troiano, Wildwood and
the excellent job done by Police and traffic control
on the roads, beaches and Boardwalk. The synergy of The Wildwoods is once again gainings it’s reputation as a family resort town. Even the beaches show up in national surveys and Kate Smith’s God Bless America is played on the Boardwalk everyday at
11am. And a personal shout out to Mario’s wife in Ocean Towers who makes the best amaretti cookies. I must get her recipe.
Reverend Monsignor John C. Marine Pastor, St. Bede the Venerable Church in Southampton, Holland, PA announces the 4th Annual Padre Pio Festival on September 14 and 15. Honored to be the official host of the Collection of Relics of Padre Pio from the Monastery of the Carmelite Sisters of Philadelphia, Mother Teresa of St. Augustine, the Superior of the Convent said, “This is
too precious of a collection of relics to be simply displayed in our convent. We sisters want to be able to share this exhibit with all those who would like to feel closer to this saint of many miracles by being in the presence
of these sacred reminders
of his life and mission here on earth.” The collection of relics will be on display both days. For details on Masses,
Street Procession, Healing Service, Confession and festivities that include free parking, children’s pavilion, entertainment, crafts and specialty foods. Pilgrim buses welcome.

At the festival Sunday, September 15, Ciao Bella Living Italian Style will conduct video interviews sharing personal stories of devotion to Padre Pio hosted by Julia Calandra-Lineberg, Founder of Journey With Padre Pio. The first-born
daughter of the late founders of the National Centre
for Padre Pio, Julia is internationally recognized
as an expert on the life and spirituality of Padre Pio. She has had the privilege to have met and known modern day Saints including Pope John Paul II & Mother Theresa.
63 and counting! That’s how many years Sid Mark has been introducing generation after generation to Sunday with Sinatra (9am-1pm). Listen to these legends from any mobile device www.soundsofsinatra.com/ listen-online.
As legends go, join in celebrating Frank Rizzo’s 99th Birthday in Hank Cisco style and tradition. We’ll meet up outside the Municipal Services Building Plaza by John F. Kennedy Boulevard on the steps at the base of the Rizzo Statue12:30pm with Radio Host Dom Giordano mc’ing the celebration.
Thanks to Ryan Derfler
of Chadds Ford Junxion Magazine (July 2019) for their feature on “What’s in your garage ~ cherishing my
late husband’s collection
~ together, we rolled in style.” Following is the text: “I have been on a social media blackout since the passing
of my husband, Bob, but decided to honor his memory by sharing a bit about his love of cars with Chadds Ford JunXion.
Bob’s car collection sits in
the barn on our property “Echo Hill Farm” in Historic Thornton Chester County. Bob’s love for cars had a great impact on his life and the lives of others. In fact, he and I met at a car show at the Whiteland Towne Center
in Exton 25 years ago this Fall. I had my 1969 Cadillac Convertible; he had a 1965 Caprice Blue Thunderbird Convertible, and he offered me space in his barn for winter storage. Bob had
the captivating blue eyes of Sinatra, the swagger of Cary Grant, and the machismo
of Clint Eastwood,
all rolled into one. Needless to say, I took his offer!
Bob retired from
Boeing after a
35-year career.
He was a board
member of The
Keystone Region
Rolls Royce
Owners Club and
sponsored various
events, including
a Rolls Royce
Brigade through the Philadelphia Navy
Yard in conjunction
with the Chapel of the
Four Chaplains. We traveled to Rolls Royce National meets in Nashville, New Orleans, Oregon, Kentucky & Gettysburg where his Bentley received a judging score of 387 out of 400.
Every winter, we traveled I 95 to Florida to visit the famous RM Car Auctions with a stop at Amelia Island’s Concours
d’elegance to photograph celebrity cars; once, we met the famous Carroll Shelby.
A real gem in his collection is a 1967 Jeep Commando, the first incarnation of the present day Jeep, manufactured after WWII when soldiers came home from the war. Another rare car is a 1965 Commuter Station Wagon, one of 4,750 made, which is all original with only 18,000 miles; it’s similar to the station wagon used in the Chevy Chase movies with the Griswold Family Vacations. Another car worth mentioning is
Bob’s 1982 Rolls Royce Camargue, one of only 534 worldwide, with the rumor mill saying a Saudi Prince has collected over 200 of them. For many years, I was so

proud to stand alongside Bob with his precious cars, and as dearly as he loved them, he made me feel even more special.”
Thank you all for your kind words, prayers and thoughts throughout this past year.
Until next month ~ Ciao Bella !
