Dreams Come True ~ Facing The Beast Removing the Stigma, Victim to Warrior, Fearless in Heels
met her mentors, Linda Lee DeMetrick, Esq., and James Farragher Campbell, Esq., husband and wife, who hired her as an inexperienced secretary and guided her into the field of law through inspiration and encouragement when no one else cared.
Thirty years ago, the college boyfriend who attempted to kill her three times, unwittingly introduced her to Linda and James and they instilled the strength and
the power that Kathy needed to rid herself of the batterer. Thirty years later, during Kathy’s first Author’s Conference in Arizona in February 2022, the couple joined Kathy and her husband to celebrate the release
of “Fearless in Heels”; to hear Kathy tell her story to other authors; and to enjoy their reunion over a decadent Italian dinner.
Kathy was strangled but miraculously survived and became stronger. Today, the bitterness over the abuse at the hands of her college boyfriend and the regret arising from the mistakes she made in San Francisco have lessened and she refuses to let any regret overshadow her well-deserved success.
Although she denied her own trauma for 30 years, she was forced to face it when writing her story last year. She implores all of you to look for the warning signs, the red flags and to accept the lifelines when offered.
Ultimately, she broke the cycle of violence and married her husband, Joe Tinari who is known as Tom in “Fearless.”
Their son will graduate college this year as they
celebrate 25 years of marriage.
Her fight for equality went on far too long but after
twenty-five years of practicing law, her time has finally come.
Kathy shares her power with others and won’t let anyone steal it from her again. #NoMore

As a child, Kathleen A. Piperno, Esq. followed the rules in order to please her family but broke all of them when she moved away. Instead of fitting in, she stood out.
She wrote “Fearless in Heels” in 2021 over a five-month period with the guidance of her writing coach and publisher, Gloria Coppola, owner of PPP Publishing. Judgement followed her from her rowhome, to college, to the courtroom but she didn’t care because she fearlessly turned her negatives into positives.
Kathy tells her story through the words of the heroine, Frankie, in this eye-opening novel. With the courage she inherited from her father and the 25-year
journey from legal secretary to the first female partner in the family law division of Eckell
Sparks, she transformed from victim to warrior. With the compassion that she
inherited from her mother, she transforms and empowers other victims. While Kathy attended college in California, she
