 DCA’S PROUD HISTORY
The Delaware Contractors Association (DCA) was created in 1969 with the merger of two of Delaware’s most respected construction trade associations, the Allied Industries of Delaware (1932) and the Delaware Chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America (1934).
DCA is an association comprised of general and subcontractors, involved in heavy, highway, commercial, industrial and utility construction, as well as suppliers
of goods and services to the construction industry. DCA’s membership includes allied and merit shop firms of all sizes, companies spanning multiple generations and those new to the construction community.
DCA is a non-profit organization run by a Board of Directors, elected annually by the membership. An Executive Committee and officers are elected from within the Board. The Association is organized to bring a voice of strength and unity to the construction industry in Delaware, while holding a commitment to excellence.
The Association is dedicated to serving the needs of the construction community through communication, leadership, government and public relations, education, workforce development, training and networking opportunities. DCA keeps its members closely apprised of industry issues and governmental matters. Information bulletins are regularly published in the
DCA Punch List and on its website, www.dca.build.
The Association maintains an effective and viable rapport with state, county, local and federal governmental officials in both the executive and legislative branches.
All recognize DCA for its leadership
and contributions to the development
of government policy.
DCA’s offices are at the intersection of Routes 4 and 7 in the Churchman’s Crossing area of suburban New Castle County in a facility that offers a large boardroom, a well-equipped classroom and visitors’ offices for its members’ use.
The Association’s experienced staff is always available to quickly and effectively address the needs of its members and the industry. The DCA Team includes Bryon Short, Executive Vice President; Marla DiSalvo, COO; Jamie Arnold, Community Manager; and
part time Staff Support Nancy Handlin.
